Lacoste FW25: Architectural Sportswear on Historic Clay

Lacoste’s Fall/Winter 2025 showcase at Roland-Garros redefined the intersection of athletic heritage and high fashion, as creative director Pelagia Kolotouros unveiled her third collection on the transformed Philippe Chatrier court.

Dubbed An Invitation, the event welcomed guests with embroidered leather boxes and blankets adorning the clay runway, blending ceremonial elegance with avant-garde spatial design.

Kolotouros merged technical innovation and historical reverence, reinterpreting René Lacoste’s 1930s tennis revolution through puffered coats, bedazzled crocodile emblems, and silk viscose windbreakers.

The lineup juxtaposed structured tailoring with slouchy tech pants, while accessories like tennis racket-shaped bags and reflective nylon fabrics echoed the brand’s sport-luxe DNA. A-listers including Venus Williams and Stromae witnessed the fusion of 90s-inspired silhouettes, sensuous A-line dresses, and daring proportions set to Sampha’s pulsating soundtrack.

By weaving archival motifs—such as René’s handwritten signature—into modern utilitarianism, Kolotouros cemented Lacoste’s legacy as a pioneer of "French elegance in motion".
